  • To enhance the tent camping experience along Bear Butte Creek, trailers over 20' are not allowed in the primitive tent camping area, in addition to RVs and generators. We're trying to keep unused trailers and carts out of the heavily shaded area, to make more room for tent camping. Large trailers (+20') just don't fit, and they break down tree branches in the heavily wooded area.  As always, trailers can be parked next to our unloading ramp. Thanks for your understanding!

At Lamphere Ranch Campground we try to make your stay as pleasant and enjoyable as possible. This is the Sturgis Rally and you expect some noise and revelry, but within reason. If your main reason for attending the rally is to party we can recommend several other campgrounds that you may be happier at. We do patrol our campground and may ask you to quiet down or to respect your neighbor. If we need to remind you of that you may be asked to leave with no refund.
You may be asked to leave immediately with no refund if you are doing burnouts or discharging firearms or fireworks.

Pets and Children

I like pets and have a dog and several cats some of which you may see while you stay with us. However this is not a good place or time to bring your pet. Over the years several pets have gone missing or have been injured due to unfamiliar surroundings. Please leave your pet at home. If you must bring them there are several rules:

  • Do not leave your pet unattended
  • Pets must be on a short, 10' leash at all times
  • Pets are not allowed in the shower houses
  • Pets are not allowed in the Chuckwagon Restaurant
  • Pick up after your dog
  • Walk your dog ONLY in the area by the red barn
  • You may be asked to leave without refund if there are issues

Although we consider our campground to be a clean and quiet sleeping campground without loud bands or nudity, the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally is still an adult event. All campers should be of age.

"This is more than a campground, it's our backyard."
